TA Program Structure, Policies, and Procedures
- TA program structure: The majority of projects will go through a competitive selection process. TAP funds are administered by MoDOT.
- Who is eligible to apply: Local government or public agency.
- Application information: The application can be found online.
- Application timeline: The project selection cycle occurs every two years. The next call for proposals is to be determined. The last call for applications was 11/14/2014.
- Application components: Project sponsor information, basic project information, project location, transportation alternatives categories by group, project description, and general cost estimate.
- Selection criteria: Applications will be reviewed and rated by the appropriate selection committee. Funding will be applied to the projects selected by the committee. Committees will score the projects within their district according to the approved rating system for the district.
- Application tips: Have a realistic completion plan, plan for cost increases and inflation, plan for long-term maintenance, double check for completeness, be creative, and provide photographs.
- Is there an advisory committee?: Yes, a local committee.
- Advisory committee members: At least five members. The local committee may include representatives from Regional Planning Commissions, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, historic preservation advocate, bicycling advocate, pedestrian advocate, water quality advocate, architectural landscaping advocate, Missouri Department of Transportation, Department of Natural Resources, Missouri Department of Conversation and Federal Highway Administration.
- Project award minimum: $50,000 except for Safe Routes to School Activities Category that will have a minimum of $20,000.
- Project award maximum: $400,000
- Typical local match: 20%
- Matching policies: Yes, the state accepts in-kind match. Contact the regional TE Office for more information.
- Once your project is funded: There are different guidelines for different areas located online.
